A few pictures about 2 relaxing days around Altmünster.
Altmünster is a sweet little town in Upper Austria’s beautiful Lake District, Salzkammergut. I was looking for a quiet place to stay, away from crowded tourist attractions and the noise of the city. This town was a really good choice for a relaxing break, emptying my mind, eating well, sipping the fresh, crispy alpine air, swimming in the cold lake. Just a quick selection of pictures down there.
Please, read the captions under the images then click on the images. 🙂
Schloss Ort in Gmunden. Nice view while swimming in the "sehr frisch" water of Traunsee.
Not the best place to jump into the water. Pretty view though.
The Alps. More than cows. 😀
Alpine pine forest. I was so tired of this year in August already that I actually fell asleep when I laid back under the huge pine trees.
Love those all-size cottages hiding among the lush greens.
Have a look at the map, point on a nearby random place you know nothing about, go there, get your jaw ready to be dropped.
Believe me or not, in the middle of am enchanted forest, a black cat came to me and escorted me to this magical place. 🙂 (Because she wanted me to catch some fish for her... )
Here is the proof. How bizarre is that: you meet and become friends with a black kitty at a forest toilet... In British folklore, a black cat with a white patch on her chest is truly a fairy. 😉
The mountains seemed to be burning in the sunset by the lake.
