Happy Chinese New Year!
For the first day of the year of the Monkey, I have selected some old pictures that I took with my bridge camera on a daytrip to Qingcheng Shan near Chengdu, Sichuan. My husband has a really nice and detailed post about this adventurous day in his blog (click here for the story) – also took some better pictures than I did… 🙂

Charming little village on the way up to the temple of Guanyin.
Met some beautiful creatures on the hiking route. My curiosity was stronger than my fear. 🙂 A biologist friend of ours said it might be an orb-weaver. Such a wonderful spider, I'm so lucky that I saw one.
Needed to take a ferry to continue our walk up the mountain.
On the ferry.
It is worth crossing that lake with the ferry. 🙂
Another pavilion to take a break.
There were some really nice waterfalls on the way. 🙂
Those stairs reminded me of an Escher picture. ^_^
People in this half-abandoned village tried to convince us to stay there for the night...
Looking out while approaching to the top.
This cottage miraculously survived the terrible earthquake in 2008. Since then, it has been considered a sacred place.
We almost gave up before we reached this point.
